AHS Dress Code
All Staff members are expected to follow these rules along with students.
All Staff members are expected to enforce these rules consistently.
All shorts and skirts must be at least one-half inch past the fingertips of the person wearing them OR no more than 7" above the top of the knee.
Any holes showing skin should be below the wearer's fingertips.
No sagging and underwear should NOT show
When a girl is sitting up or standing straight, no cleavage should be visible
Leggings cannot be worn alone, but must be accompanied with a shirt, skirt, dress or bottoms that fulfill the fingertip rule
Straps over the student's shoulder should be as wide as the width of the student's hand
Winter coats (defined as a coat longer than the belt line, containing an inner lining, or puffy and large) should not be worn, carried, or otherwise visible.
No chains at all
No slippers/houseshoes
No sleepwear (pajama bottoms, pajama tops, etc)
No bandanas may be visible
No hats, head gear of any kind may be worn or carried after 8:00 a.m.
No backpacks may be carried after 8:00 a.m.
No midriff should be visible while standing
No clothing which exhibits military or paramilitary insignia is allowed (except ROTC)
No alcohol, profanity, tobacco, inappropriate sayings or drug references should appear on clothing. This rule is already in effect and can be found in the Student Council Handbook.
All sports uniforms should meet the above requirements if worn during the school day
Students whose clothing does not conform to the above rules will be sent home and/or assigned discipline (including ISD)
