We promote student and staff involvement in school activities by providing a variety of          activities
We reach out into the community by providing transportation to school activities for    parents and students
We establish “Academy Nights” to educate and encourage community support
We utilize technology to provide on-line assignments for absent students
We employ alternative methods of discipline and instruction for those students who     have behavioral issues

Relevance
We promote a curriculum that is relevant to all students through Career Academies
We provide a wider spectrum of educational and social services to students through flexibility of scheduling
We evaluate and assess knowledge and comprehension through integrated     projects and applied learning
We integrate technology into our curriculum in every subject area
We provide real life experiences through partnerships and internships in the  community

Rigor
We consistently address these three questions:

  1. What do we want our students to know?
  2. How will we know if it is learned?
  3. What will we do if they don’t learn?

We systemically identify and support students through Pillars Of Support
We provide opportunities for credit recovery
We align our lessons and assessments with the Illinois State Learning Standards
We use differentiated instruction to address the diversity of students’ learning styles
We increase the attendance rate     
We increase the graduation rate
We reduce the drop out rate
We offer on-going professional development program which focuses on improvement of instructional methods
We use data to drive all decisions
