In the fall of 2008 our district adopted an exciting new reading series called Story Town.  The new series is for kindergarten through 5th grade and allows us to coordinate our reading lessons across the district.  The new series is data-driven and allows us to assess student learning and then tailor our teaching to their level.  You may hear your child talking about Reader's Workshop.  Every student is in a group for Reader's Workshop that meets for 30 minutes daily to particpate in direct instruction on his or her level.  Students can move up or down in reading group levels depending on their needs and progress.
